Thank God for the Christmas Party

My co-workers started teasing me with a kind (but old) guy. He's one of the consultants they're handling. They did it right before I hosted our company's Christmas Party.

That was the night I met my "husband-to-be". We were introduced by a colleague but I wasn't really attracted to him at first. I actually told myself, why can't it be his seatmate? LOL. So, we didn't have much time to chit-chat because I needed to go to the stage to start the program. During one of the games, most of my co-workers started yelling for me to stop. They took the microphone and asked me to join the the apple eating contest and that I be partnered with him. We did, and we won! Then we danced too before the party ended. And then he kissed me, and left some gooey saliva on my cheeks! Spell Y-U-C-K-Y.

I said I didn't really like him at first, but he didn't get my phone number and didn't bother to ask how am I doing for two months. I went gaga over him and that's basically it. Then I started to realize we were destined to be with each other, seriously, I thought there's no such thing as "destiny".

And that is how me and my husband met. What's your story?

Find the Perfect Holiday Dress

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and it's one of my most-awaited special dinner get-together's. To prepare, I always get a nice dress I can show-off to my friends.

Old Navy is one of my favorite stores. One reason is they offer a lot of choices for the whole family. It's a one-stop clothing shop for us during winter, spring, summer or fall! I thought going there is the perfect thing to do, and I was right.

Upon entering the store, I immediately went to the dress section and found at least four that I like. I can't get them all and had to choose just one. I was able to find the perfect dress to wear for our Thanksgiving dinner quickly.

I didn't have to fit it at the store because I know my size and I wasn't wrong, I think it suits me well.
The black knee-length dress looks classy as it is and if you add a few accessories, you'll look more elegant. I feel comfortable in that dress. I thought it felt warm so I looked at the tag and read that the material is made of 100% polyester. I haven't noticed until then that they also feel as soft as other made. I tried to wear the dress in three different styles, take a look at the photos.

First, sleeves down and belt at the back.

Second, sleeves down and ribbon tied in front.

Last, which is I think my favorite, sleeves up and ribbon tied at the back a little tighter.

By the way, I have to say that that dress came from the machine and I just hung it to dry, I didn't have to iron it Less work for me! I definitely am going to be more addicted to Old Navy!

Disclosure: I received a coupon to get a dress from Old Navy via Crowdtap. The words are of my own and were based on my unbiased opinion of the products.

Hotel Transylvania - Hosted Party with Crowdtap

Last October 6, a few days after the premiere showing of Hotel Transylvania, we had a house party! I was only expecting a few guests but to my surprise, the number was doubled! I got more excited to start the party. I am so prepared for this. I have lined up the activities for the kids and the adults.

First off, I prepared a great [I think] background or photo-opp wall so everyone can immediately realize what the party is about. I also prepared the "coloring table" and designed the crayon buckets. Crowdtap provided a party kit with printable coloring sheets, puzzles, mazes and also tic-tac-toe. I am proud to say I was able to utilized every single thing. Thanks to my husband for printing the materials. I put the activity sheets in a folder so it will be organized and they won't be jealous of each other. The girls did everything except for the tic-tac-toe, which made the boys busy.

The preparation.

 The kids' activity kit.

After doing the activities above, it's time for the most-exciting part, at least for the kids, of the party. The Make Your Own Monster Cupcake thing! It was a huge click event the adults joined in making them. I think they were also excited to eat them. Just look at the pictures below, who wouldn't, right?

I also prepared prizes, mango powder candies and lollipops.

Here are some of the cupcake creations:

Girls made them.

Obviously, of course, made by the parents.

After the cupcake-decorating contest, we watched the trailer of Hotel Transylvania. We also had pictures taken with the masks on but unfortunately, my 18-month old accidentally deleted the only one photo. I learned my lesson and will take at least 3 next time.

Overall, I'd say everybody had blast. I think it's the best party I've hosted so far. I hope I get to host these kinds. Oh well, until next!

Disclaimer: I applied and was chosen to host this party but I was not compensated in anyway to do a blog post.

$50 @Shutterfly #Giveaway

It's the last quarter of the year and to start it with a blast, we are giving away a $50 off [total order] to Shutterfly.

I order Christmas Cards from Shutterfly every year and I'd say this is the perfect time to prepare yours. It's a good thing Shutterfly added a lot more layout to their collection, including scripture-based and Hanukkah. For 2012, I've laid down some of my new favorites! Those will be the cards I'm going to order too.

First, a design that features a nice family picture. I love this design because last year, I opted for layouts with black, red, green and white background. I haven't tried blue, ever! This year, it'll be different and this layout will surely be purr-fect because I'm guessing there's a huge possibility of white Christmas.

Second, a design for my non-Christian friends and my husband's colleagues. We also have to consider and respect their religion, that's one this I won't ever forget.

Last but not the least, I chose a layout where I can showcase my little one's solo picture. For this layout, there's also an option for you to choose between two designs for the back of the card. That's the first time I recognized it and it really makes the card more worth-keeping! I also liked it a lot because I want the plaid design, it reminds me of my highschool uniform. Just to make it look classic and formal, I made the photo black and white. Turned out good!

Now, it's your chance to create your own! Stack up on Christmas cards as early as now so you won't feel the rush! Don't forget to check out their Special Offers to save big on your order!
